Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia

Late Summer 2016 Bookstore Notes

We are pleased to announce the arrival of new books from Russia. The books were attentively selected by Mother Maria, a nun from the Iversky Convent in Leninsk-Kuznetsky, southern Siberia, about 150 miles SE of Novosibirsk. Her love for children and literature combined with spirituality and years of experience running the convent’s bookstore, has resulted in a diverse selection of colorful and instructive books for children of all ages. The wisdom of Russian folk tales, lives of saints, Christmas stories, poetry, etc., will leap off the pages as the books are read. Teenagers will get lost in stories of pilgrimages and get wrapped up in tales of true friendships of their peers.

For the English readers, there is a selection of religious children’s books from Orthodox publishers located here and abroad.

No matter the language, children will be immersed in the wisdom attained throughout more than a millennium of Orthodox Christianity, be introduced to heroes worthy of emulation, and most importantly learn that true knowledge and wisdom come from God.

Quantities are limited, so please stop by the bookstore the next time you are at church.
